If you want to continue using Advanced Search, check your spelling,
use broader
terms, or
use fewer
terms.
LII
Basic Search is flexible and powerful, and can help you avoid some of
the pitfalls of Advanced Search (such as the lack of a spell-checker).
|
|
LII
has a spell-checker, but it only works with Basic Search. For
a
dictionary, we recommend Merriam Online.
|
Think in broad terms, as
if you were searching a library catalog. Broad terms are more
successful in LII. Our
search engine only searches the records
we use to describe websites--not the sites themselves (a problem we
hope to address in the near future). For Denzel
Washington, try movie
reviews or Oscar
awards. For lemon
meringue pie, try pie
or recipes
or cooking
or baking.
|
|
LII only shows you
records that contain all
of your search terms unless you explicitly use OR
in your query (both OR and or will work).
For example, if you used
the terms crockpot chili,
you would get "No Results Found" because we didn't have any records
that contain both terms, "crockpot" and "chili." To see the difference,
try a search for either term, or a search for crockpot or chili.

|
LII
has records for over
17,000 high-quality websites. Still, it's possible the topic you're
interested in isn't addressed by LII. Let us know what you're looking
for and we'll see if we can add websites matching your needs.
